RDT Transport helps schools and companies show parents, students and staff where their bus is, and keeps a record of pick-ups and drop-offs. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
Who decides what happens to the data
The school or company that uses RDT Transport controls its own data (students, staff, parents, drivers, buses and trip records). Real Data Tech processes it on their behalf to run the service. Questions about a specific school's or company's records can be sent to them or to us.
What we collect
- Account details: name, email, mobile number (optional), role, student/employee ID if the school adds one, and the bus and stop you are assigned to.
- Driver location during trips: while a driver has a trip running, the driver's phone shares its GPS location (including in the background in the phone app) so the bus can be shown on the map. Location sharing stops when the trip ends.
- Pick-up and drop-off records: the time and GPS location when the driver marks a person as picked up, dropped off or absent.
- Your own location (students, staff, parents): the app asks for location to show where you are next to the bus. It is used on your device only and is not sent to or stored on our servers.
- Notifications: a device token so we can send pick-up and drop-off alerts to your phone.
- Support tickets: what you write to us and your contact details.
- Security information: sign-in times and the app/browser used, to protect accounts.
What we use it for
Only to run the service: show live bus location, send pick-up and drop-off notifications, produce reports for the school or company, detect fake-GPS misuse, provide support and keep the service secure. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for advertising.
Who can see it
- Admins of your school or company see their own organisation's buses, people and records.
- Parents see only the bus and records of their own children. Students and staff see only their own bus and records; other passengers are shown by first name and status only.
- Drivers see only the people assigned to their bus.
- Real Data Tech staff, only to provide support or when required by law.
- Service providers that host the service or deliver email and notifications, under contract.
How long we keep it
GPS trails of trips are deleted after 180 days. The pick-up, drop-off and activity log is sealed so it cannot be changed, and is kept for as long as the school or company uses RDT Transport plus any period required by UAE law, because it may be needed to investigate safety incidents.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in the app under Profile → Delete my account. Your name, email, phone and stop are removed straight away and you are signed out. Past entries in your organisation's sealed safety log are kept, as explained above. You can also ask us to help at the support email below.
Children
Student accounts are created by, or approved by, the school. Schools are responsible for having the consent of parents or guardians required by law.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), passwords are stored as one-way hashes, accounts are signed out after 3½ hours without activity, and activity logs are hash-chained so any change would be detected.
Your rights
Under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, or object to its use. Contact us and we will reply within 30 days.
